What you need for a super strong business foundation - When I Grow Up

What you need for a super strong business foundation - When I Grow Up Man oh man, have I done some overhauling with my Clubhouse. I launched in almost 2 years ago to, um, less than desirable results. Then, I overhauled it and  launched it again and then closed the doors til the end of 2012. I was gonna write a quick post that says just that along with the link to check it out, but instead of just *telling* you it’s open and what’s changed, I wanted to give it to ya along with the why. As you know, I’m all about being transparent about my business goals, challenges, wins and decisions and I thought it would be helpful for ya to get a bigger sense of how I came to make these changes. Below, you’ll find the email I sent to my current Clubhousers last month announcing the changes. Feel free to use it as a template for your clients when you decide to change up your offerings / boundaries / guidelines in the midst of working together. I know that’s always a scary conversation to have! Hi NAME! I’m so excited to let you know all about the Clubhouse goodness that’s about to take effect. I’m pretty close to opening the doors back up exclusively to my Career Campers and my Grads (those who’ve coached with me for 12 sessions or more) at the end of the month, which’ll be followed by a month of open-to-the-public, um, openness! Here’s what’s up via some FAQs: 1. Why are the Clubhouse offerings changing? When I first launched the Clubhouse, I didn’t offer it up to a particular subset of my audience. Instead, I wanted it to be All! The! Things! to all the people who come to me for help those who don’t know what they wanna be when they grow up; those who do but not how to make it happen, and those who’re making it happen but it’s not quite working as well as they’ve been hoping. Now, 2 years after I first opened the doors, I know that the people who benefit most from the Clubhouse and the vast vast number of Clubhousers who are currently members are those who already know what they wanna do when they grow up, and are side hustling it up/in their first year(s) of full-time Woman of the World-ness (aka entrepreneurship). Since that’s really evident at this point, I immediately started brainstorming what would be the most valuable offerings in the Clubhouse for new-ish creative, female business owners. I had a ton of ideas, but they got narrowed down right quick thanks to the survey that so many of you filled out a month or two ago (so helpful!). It became immediately apparent that you wanted to work on building your foundation: prioritization, goal-setting, getting your deadlines on the calendar and ensuring they’re met, and actually following through to finish what you start.….and you wanted it specific to your business needs/goals/priorities/values not a pre-fab “course” of tasks telling you what to learn/do/spend time on. You also wanted more community/hang-out time, and I don’t blame ya. We’re a pretty fantastic bunch I’d wanna spend more time with us, too! 2. What’s being offered? The Clubhouse is about to exclusively include: continued 24/7 access to a private Facebook group. As you know, there’s an amazeballstastic community where you can share your wins/ challenges/ resources/ questions with other creative business owners. Its all in the place you know youre going to two dozen times a day anyway. And I, of course, will be there, too! a live 60 minute monthly QA video call that you can access from wherever you are. It’s time to not only pick my brain as The When I Grow Up Coach, but to use the group as a collective because, well, we know everything (it’s been proven)! Cant attend the call live? There’ll always be a recording, and you can always follow up on it in the Facebook group with your questions, resources and/or comments. Win-win. continued access to Word versions of all the exercises Ive ever created ( ever will!). Currently, there are 32 of ‘em, impeccably organized and accessible 24/7 via Facebook, so its easy to find your challenge (i.e. which-social-media-sites’ll-work-best-for-my-biz; needing-to-learn-how-to-not-procrastinate-anymore-goshdarnit) and work through that exercise to come up with your answer within the hour. quarterly (at least!) Clubhouse Coworking days. You can still work at home in your pjs, but why do it alone? Hop on a video call with me and your fellow Clubhousers in the morning to set your goal, check-in/take a social break during lunch, and come back at the end of the day to report your progress and collectively do a happy dance. Unsure what to use the day for? Reserve it for a Rousing Review of the quarter that just ended, and plan for the next. I’ll walk you through how to make it happen. accountability in setting your goal(s) and following through. Through the Facebook group and weekly emails, you’ll be prompted by me to set your monthly goal, describe your wins and struggles along the way (so we can help fix what’s broken and build on what’s working), be paired up with others who have a similar goal, and celebrate when you cross the finish line! It’s also where I’ll be able to point you to the exercise(s) and/or resources I know will help you with whatever you’re setting out to do. continued access to the worksheets, workbooks and/or recordings since the Clubhouse was formed in 2012. A-ha moments care of Kylie Bellard, Alexandra Franzen, Tiffany Han, Tamarisk Saunders-Davies, Stacy Stone, Jessica Swift, Emilie Wapnick and more await! quarterly payment plans. I specifically created The Clubhouse as an affordable place for my peeps to get access to me, my exercises, and the amazeballs people I attract and I don’t want that to change. Making four small payments for your yearly membership instead of one big one will hopefully make you breathe a little easier. 3. What’s no longer included? A monthly “winner” of a free coaching session (I’d rather be able to give more time to the group as a whole) and a discount on my other offerings (which, honestly, rarely got utilized and were always tough for me to catch when they came through). That’s it. Everything else is on the table and then some. Ain’t that the best? 4. When will this start? January 2014 officially, but between now and then we’ll have a Clubhouse Coworking day + a November December expert + a monthly private session winnerso it’s like you’re getting All The Things an extra 2 months early. 5. Will I have to pay more? When you see me re-open the Clubhouse doors to the public on December 9th, you’ll see the price be $90 quarterly. But for your renewals (I’ll let you know a week before it’s up via a personal email, but lots of you are up for renewal over the next 2 months), I’m happy to be able to offer you a discounted payment of $50/quarter. The Clubhouse would just not be the same without you, and I really hope this discount and the new payment structure makes this a no-brainer for ya. Also, once you start the subscription, the price will never go up for you in the future it’ll be $50/quarter for as long as you remain a member of the Clubhouse. Thanks for reading so much, and don’t hesitate to let me know any thoughts/ comments/ feedbacks/questions that ya have. I welcome it all! Your Clubhouse President,
